KILLER BEES HONEY was started by Sean & Denise, a husband and wife team committed to protecting our ecosystem and biodiversity through sustainable bee stewardship and honey harvesting practices. We recognize that honey bees as a sentinel species, necessary for keeping the forest alive, are also responsible for pollinating up to 70% of all of our food sources. They are the lifeblood of a sustainable environment and healthy planet.
There is no mistaking Carol Misner’s botanical paintings. Each piece is her unique interpretation of the flora, in monochromatic tones, reflecting the simple beauty, gracefulness, and fragility of the botanical it portrays. Ms. Misner so delicately layers her acrylics to achieve a diaphanous, gossamer quality that it has been said her works resemble x-rays in watercolor. The majority of Ms. Misner’s subjects come from the beautiful flora she finds in her community and in her travels.
As a child, Theresa Forman had a passion for art and the process of creating something beautiful. However, it was not until later in life that she was able to pursue fine art and painting. Theresa greatly enjoys drawing inspiration from life where she can observe both the colors and subtle nuances in the landscape or in a still life. Working primarily in oils, she uses the Plein Air studies and photographic references to produce studio pieces that reveal the harmony found in nature.
Chef of the award-winning Atlanta restaurant Miller Union, Steven Satterfield — dubbed the “Vegetable Shaman” by The New York Times’ Sam Sifton — has enchanted diners with his vegetable dishes, capturing the essence of fresh produce through a simple, elegant cooking style over the years. Satterfield believes in making the most out of the edible parts of the plant, from “root to leaf”, a riff on the whole animal cookery term of “nose to tail”.
