Gifts. Gifts. Gifts.
Does your head spin when thinking about what to give everyone on your shopping list? How do you find the perfect, unique present for someone, something to show you put thought and effort into the gift?
It’s simple: The Bookworm. The Hudson Library’s used bookstore is the perfect place to find just what you’re looking for.
The Bookworm, staffed totally by volunteers, is located at The Falls on Main in downtown Highlands and offers a huge selection of used books, videos and audio books. All proceeds benefit the Hudson Library. Manager Delaine Mehder and her staff work throughout the year to select, sort and shelve the many donations that come through their doors. Their current location makes shopping a joy. Everything is organized, the lighting is outstanding and the options are endless.
Who is on your list? If you have a chef to buy for, let them show you their array of cookbooks ranging from regional spiral-bound books to compilations from Southern Living. If there’s a historian you’re shopping for, you’ll be delighted with both the non-fiction and fiction options.
The Bookworm carries a large variety of both paperback and hardback novels for the mystery lovers and romance fans in your life. Children love to be read too, and parents and grandparents would be thrilled with a stack of new stories with which to entertain youngsters. They carry older books for collectors, too. These are researched through other rare books web sites and then priced under their suggested values. The choices and prices are a book-lover’s dream!
Located at 555 East Main Street in Highlands, The Bookworm is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. and accepts donations of your used books during those hours. For more information, contact the Hudson Library at (828) 526-3031.
