Big Brother Big Sister ‘s Cinco De Mayo at The Highlands Food Pantry

May 6, 2023/

We would like to invite you all to this amazing opportunity, co-hosted with the International Friendship Center and curated just for our program matches and kiddos. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the traditions and meanings surrounding Cinco de Mayo, including hands on cooking, history education and more!

We will also have a visitor / former Big Brother join us from the Highlands Counseling Center to share with us how cooking and nutrition positively affect our mental health and wellbeing.

Building on last year’s success, our English Language Learners classes will resume on February 27th at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.

Classes will run Mondays and Tuesdays, 6 pm to 8 pm and will include dinner and childcare for students and their families.

There are three learning levels: Beginner, Level I, and Level II. The classes are facilitated by trained faculty with experience teaching English to non-native speakers.
