Whitewater Falls

Directions: From US 64 west of Lake Toxaway, take NC 281 for 8.5 miles and turn left at the sign for Whitewater Falls into a parking area. Waterfall GPS N35.03378 W-83.01616
About: This is the pinnacle of spectacle – cascades stretching for 411 feet. And those cascades are arrayed in narrow rivulets and rushes that register in the brain as aesthetically perfect. If you don’t feel this waterfall somewhere deep in your soul, you may want to reexamine your life.
Difficulty: Not strenuous, though the paved path is a bit uneven, which may prove a challenge to wheelchair users, though that shouldn’t prevent anyone from getting to this magnificent waterfall.

Whether you want to tackle a mountain or sit by a stream, you’ll find just what you’re looking for here. This is a premier golf destination, but there’s so much more available. There are streams to fish, public pools and tennis courts to enjoy and playgrounds, too. Winter sports include ice skating, skiing, tubing and hiking.
