The Highlands-Cashiers Plateau is a very special place at the southern crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering spectacular mountain views, sparkling lakes and waterfalls, lush woodlands and truly sublime weather. With tall, steep sides encircled by national forest, the Plateau sits high above the surrounding areas of western North Carolina. Cashiers, Highlands, Sapphire, Lake Glenville and Lake Toxaway are all located on the Plateau, at 3,000 to over 5,000 feet above sea level, in Jackson, Transylvania and Macon counties.
