Known as the “Cheers” of Bookstores, the Bookworm in Highlands is affiliated with the Hudson Library: all books are donated; all staff are volunteers; and all funds go to help support the library. More than a retail store, we are a community service offering carefully sorted donated books to provide the best quality at a used bookstore price.
Visit the Bazaar Barn's second location Fridays and Saturdays at 1846 107N, across from Blue Ridge School.
Fill your cup at Art Highlands Gallery, hosting and toasting international encaustic maestro Michael Hayden, with 12 fantastic pieces on display. Meet the artist, enjoy the mind meld.
Also on Saturday and Sunday June 2-4, meet Michael and learn about his elegant style of shaping pigment infused wax, generating large panels of encaustic art.
Friday Night Live Concert Series:
Husband and wife duo, Ezra and Katie have been playing acoustic music together for over 10 years.
These Highlands natives recently spent 7 years in Los Angeles pursuing their creative endeavors: writing, acting, and performing small acoustic shows around the city. They are heavily influenced by folk music, country, and traditional Appalachian hymns, looking to Americana artists such as the Avett Brothers, Langhorne Slim, John Prine, and Miranda Lambert as inspirations.
They are excited to be playing in their hometown again!
