CHHS Hero Pet Dolly is a sweet five-year-old female Plott Hound/Spaniel mix found wandering as a stray in Tuckasegee in March, 2014.
She was rescued and given safe refuge at CHHS and after nearly two years, Dolly is the longest-term resident canine at our no-kill shelter. Dolly definitely has the tracking instincts of a hound, but she is actually very calm and laid back. Dolly adores affection and attention, gets along great with other canines, and she loves warm beds and soft, fluffy blankets. And if you’ve never seen a dog do the “army crawl,” you’re in for a real treat – Dolly performs that maneuver like a boot camp all-star.
Dolly is intelligent, completely housetrained, adores all people, and has become a regular participant in the recent outings with our CHHS Hikers for Hounds. This sweet canine would make a loving family dog – all she needs is a loving family. Dolly has been spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and flea/heartworm preventative, and her adoption comes with 30 days of free pre-paid pet health insurance and a free starter bag of food.
Hero Pets like Dolly are the longer-term CHHS residents who are happy, healthy and completely adoptable – they’re just a little more picky when choosing their human companion! CHHS Hero Pets have reduced adoption fees of only $25. For more information on how to adopt Dolly, please contact CHHS at (828)-743-5752, email [email protected] or visit us online at CHHumanesociety.org.
