If You Love to Sing

Written by: Wiley Sloan

Issue: 2016, July 2016

The Cashiers Community Chorus is seeking more voices to fill their ranks.  You don’t have to be a professional, just need to enjoy singing.

According to publicity director Judy Gray, “the chorus is made up of adults who love to sing and are committed to attending practices.  No audition is required.”

You still have plenty of time to learn the music. The chorus’ first planned performance is August 10 and will include a collection of both gospel and patriotic music.

The group will be under the direction of Betty Morris, Christian Education Director and Music Director at Cashiers United Methodist Church. The chorus’ repertoire will include a variety of music from sacred, folk, and spiritual, to gospel and patriotic.    Bryan Heller is a well-known piano teacher and accompanist, who’ll help the Chorus excel.

For the sheer enjoyment of singing, of course. Rehearsals are Mondays at 4:00 P.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd at 1448 Highway 107 South in Cashiers.

For more information, contact Judy Gray at (828) 226-3175 or judygray@dnet.net.  Gray says that all skill levels are welcome.

Even if you choose not to join, you’ll want to come to the concert.  Mark it on your calendars today.
