Get your tickets now for the Fourth Annual Author’s Tea at Highlands United Methodist Church, to be held from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Saturday, June 24.  This immensely popular event sells out quickly so get your tickets early.

Southern author Karen White, who hails from the Atlanta area, is well known for her award-winning style.  Acclaimed by both The New York Times and USA Today as one of today’s most popular writers, Karen’s books give you an escape from reality.

In addition to her mystery series based in Charleston, South Carolina, she continues to capture the hearts of Southern women with stories that include romance, history, antiques and architecture.  Since her first book “In the Shadow of the Moon,” published in August 2000, Karen has written steadily.

Don your hat and gloves, or come in mountain chic attire.  You’ll enjoy delicious finger sandwiches, and petit fours to satisfy your sweet tooth as you kibitz with friends and neighbors around tables of shimmering crystal and fine china.  Each of the table hostesses displays her creative style with the fetching table décor.

You’ll also get to hear the author tell some of the background of her most recent book, “The Night the Lights Went Out.”  Learn how this Southern woman was influenced by growing up in London.

Tickets are only $25 each.  Call the church office at (828) 526-3376 or Event Coordinator Gay Kattel at (828) 526-2746.  You’ll have a fun-filled afternoon as you help the church raise funds for its new Faith and Fellowship Center.  For more information, go to highlandsmethodist.org.
