Can you imagine anything better than sitting on a mountaintop listening to live music?

If that sounds like a great way to spend a summer’s evening, then plan a visit to Sapphire Valley.  The Sapphire Valley Resort is located just three miles east of Cashiers on Highway 64.  They offer just about any activity you can imagine to keep you and your family busy in the outdoors.

One of the most popular events is the Concert on the Slopes series.  After a day spent hiking, golfing swimming or ziplining, it’s the perfect way to relax and enjoy the the cool evening air.  The schedule for the Concerts on the Slopes has been set and on Tuesday, June 21, at 7:00 P.M. you’ll be seeing The Flying Saucers.  This band features top-notch musicians and a horn section to create a full and complete sound.  They’ll be playing early hits from artists like Johnny Cash, Elvis, and Roy Orbison as well as retro TV themes and surf music.  You’ll be singing all night.  Be sure to bring a blanket or a chair.  All concerts are $20.

In 1954 the Howard family acquired approximately 8,500 acres in Sapphire and George Cobb was hired to design a golf course on 2,000 acres.  The development was named Sapphire Valley Inn and Golf Course and officially opened in 1956.  Since those early days, it’s grown to become one of the most popular resort communities east of the Mississippi.  Their focus is on family-friendly activities and they offer several popular community events throughout the year.  Concerts on the Slopes will be held on the Sapphire Valley Ski Slopes, behind the Sapphire Valley Community Center, three miles east of Cashiers on US 64.

Prepare to sing along to The Flying Saucers on Tuesday, June 21 at 7:00 P.M.  For tickets and further information, call (828) 743-7663.
