Cashiers Designer Showhouse
The Cashiers Historical Society has unveiled its plans for the 20th annual Cashiers Designers Showhouse, its primary fundraiser, August 12 to 27.
This year the showhouse will feature three newly-constructed cottages in Cottage Walk located on Burns Street in downtown Cashiers. The showhouses will be within easy walking distance of Cashiers shops and restaurants.
The three cottages combined give the designers 27 blank canvases on which to perform their magic. The designers are selected from among the leading designers on the Plateau and around the Southeast; and the homes themselves are for sale through McKee Properties and Old Cashiers Realty.
Many events are planned throughout the two weeks, beginning with the Benefactors’ Dinner at the Chattooga Club on August 11. This spectacular evening is by invitation only. If you’re interested in becoming a member of the Cashiers Historical Society at the Benefactor level, contact Cashiers Historical Society Executive Director, Tonya Hensley.
General admission tickets are available for purchase either for a single day or as a multi-day package online as well as at several locations in Cashiers and Highlands. Not only will you be able to tour the gorgeous homes of Cottage Walk, but you may choose to participate in a cocktail party, a celebrity luncheon and afternoon teas on the Showhouse grounds.
Since the Cashiers Designers Showhouse is located in downtown Cashiers, ample parking will be available at the large lot on Frank Allen Road opposite the Cashiers-Glenville Fire Department headquarters and behind Wendy’s. There will be a trolley running regular service from the parking lot to the Showhouse about every 10 minutes. Parking is free every day except August 21, Eclipse Day, when there will be a $25 charge for parking.
