It’s a wonderful thing when you finally find a stylist that understands you and your hair.
Why does it seem that as soon as you’ve found the perfect person they decide to relocate? So there you go trying salon after salon, experiencing the good, the bad and the ugly. It’s enough to make a person collect hats.
This is not the case at Creative Concepts, upstairs at the Falls on Main in downtown Highlands. Each of the women working at the salon truly love what they do and the people they work with. Call it a team if you must, but ask them and they prefer the word “family.” They work together like a well-oiled machine and have no desire to throw a wrench into the works.
It’s a joyous experience walking into Creative Concepts and you immediately feel just a wee bit calmer. They have four hair stations, two nail stations, a pedicure area, a tanning bed, and a makeup station where they feature Sormé products. The services they provide are comprehensive in their scope. When you schedule a pedicure, be prepared for the full spa treatment complete with homemade scrub, hot towels and foot massage.
Nail tech Jenna Schmitt, who also does spray tanning, offers a full range of nail care from a basic manicure to acrylic nails and gel polish. Stylist and owner Lacy Jane Vilardo works side by side with Heather Escandon, Maggie Barden and Bri Field to provide expert cuts for men, women, and children. Creative Concepts is well known for their color services. Should you have a wedding, prom, or other special event coming up, schedule an appointment and you can pamper yourself with a full menu of amenities, including eyelash extensions and waxing.
Manager Sara Vanderbilt will be happy to take your call and explain everything they do. Creative Concepts is located upstairs at The Falls on Main, 541 Main Street in Highlands. Call them at (828) 526-3939 or email your request to
