It’s October and showtime! Oaks, poplars, and maples paint the landscape with incalculable colors. But the real megastars are 25 fine artists from a five-state region.  Join them for their annual Fall Colors Fine Art Show, presented by the Art League of Highlands-Cashiers. With all that color and talent, October 21 and 22 are going to be a knockout, from Mother Nature’s mountaintops to the halls of the Highlands Recreation Center, 600 North 4th Street.

Artist and spokesperson Zach Claxton invites you to the 2023 League’s Fall Colors Fine Art Show. “We will feature a broad spectrum of Fine Arts including painting, ceramics, glass, fiber, wood, and drawing. In keeping with the Plateau’s emphasis on exceptional art, the work is juried, with recognition awarded to outstanding pieces.  This show features many well-known artists from across the region but is also dedicated to encouraging young and emerging artists. The show will sponsor display space for a few Highlands School students that have demonstrated a special talent for art.

Art on the Plateau has become a draw for visitors in recent years with new galleries and shows continually growing and no doubt this show will draw folks from across the region to meet the artists.

Said one South Florida resident, “I look forward to this show every year and plan my fall visit to coincide with it.”
