Chef Jimmy Davis at Main Street Bistro Chef

Chef Jimmy infuses the cherished traditons of the Bistro on Main with exciting new taste sensations.

There’s nothing more “True Highlands” than to grab a table at the Bistro on Main under the brightly colored umbrellas, order your favorite beverage and people watch as you peruse the menu. Chef Jimmy Davis brings years of experience and innate talent to the Bistro.

Growing up in a family that loved to cook, Jimmy started exploring early on combining different ingredients to create the unique tastes that are his signature today. His mom’s specialty was “just down-home” country-style cooking served family style.  Jimmy enjoys that food but has expanded his talents to include French and Italian cuisine that is so popular today. Customers consistently enjoy the Trout Meuniere-fresh sunburst mountain trout sautéed in lemon butter sauce, white wine and shallots. The Red Pepper Gouda Soup and Lobster Bisque are two of the soups that draw customers to the Bistro on cool mountain evenings.

Many of you will know Jimmy from his days as Executive Chef of the Cedar Creek in Cashiers or when he owned the Black Bear Café.  Jimmy tried living and working in Asheville for a while but has decided that he prefers the slower pace of the mountains.

The Bistro’s Signature Berry lemonade is a real crowd pleaser. Take fresh made lemonade, add blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries; mix all together and infuse with rosemary; a local favorite. Prefer to have a glass of wine, beer or cocktail? That’s all available too!

The Bistro’s buffet breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays a crowd pleaser.  Choose for two styles of eggs, a meat, grits and either French toast, waffles or pancakes, fresh fruit, biscuits, homemade baked goods and piping hot coffee.  The menu varies daily.
