Superbugs are bacteria that have developed resistance to the majority of commonly used antibiotics. One approach that is showing promise to treat superbug infections is phage therapy. Phages are viruses that kill only bacteria and recent studies conclude that patients near death due to superbug infections have been successfully treated using phage therapy. This talk will also review some of the work being done to learn more about these viruses that kill bacteria.
