The Vega String Quartet

While the regular season of the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival may be over, there is still one more special event to look forward to.

The Vega String Quartet is returning for a mini residency October 13 and 14. The quartet is passionate about creating and cultivating a new generation of chamber music lovers through dynamic performances and innovative community engagement. On Friday, October 13, the Vega String Quartet will be offering three free events for
area youngsters.

They’ll give a mini program at Blue Ridge School and Summit Charter schools in Cashiers and later that day, at Highlands School. These programs will be both a concert and an informative talk and will capture the interest of all students. That evening, they will be performing at a pajama party for community children at the Albert Carlton-Cashiers Community Library. Also free, thanks to the generosity of the Cullasaja Women’s Outreach, the quartet will be giving a concert at Chestnut Hill in Highlands Saturday, October 14.

At 5:00 P.M. Saturday the Vega Quartet will be performing at the First Presbyterian Church in Highlands. This concert is by reservation only and no tickets will be sold at the door. This is the final concert of the season and is one not to be missed.

Along with the regular season concerts, many other special events were made possible  thanks to the generosity of the patrons, the underwriters, Feast and Salon hosts, and organizational grant donors including the Cullasaja Women’s Outreach, the Highlands Chamber of Commerce, and Mountain Findings.

As the 36th Season of the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival comes to a close, organizers want to thank all involved for another great year and encourage everyone to stay tuned for the 2018 season.
