Human Potential & Equines

“Don’t blink” seems to be a recurring theme for Carpe Diem Farms.

On January 27, 1992, we received our 501c3 not-for-profit status from the Internal Revenue Service and were on our way to fulfill our vision, “to empower individuals through life changes to see the opportunities and possibilities that abound.”  Our mission was to create a place where individuals and groups of all ages could come to a safe refuge far from the din of the everyday noise of life, embraced by the bounty of nature with horses to learn to listen to the still small voice within.  Our mantra became “Exploring the Human Potential Through Equines.”  August 15, 1997, Carpe Diem Farms the place was manifest.

How do you begin to celebrate 25 years of experiential programming with participants from across the country?  We’re seeking help from those who hold a special place in their hearts for Carpe Diem Farms, the place, to help with an Open House Celebration, Sunday, October 8, from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M.  Music, tours of the farm, stables and buildings, hikes to the waterfall, and the familiar swimming hole of camp days will be on the agenda.  Times with the nine horses, walking the labyrinth, and visiting with old friends are all on the agenda.  It will be an auspicious occasion.

It’s humbling to see what Carpe Diem Farms has become through the work, dedication, and support of a small group of volunteers and donors.

As Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.  Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” CDF has continued to change the world for many of our nearly four thousand participants over the years.
