It’s a chance to recognize the blessings of the past year and a hopeful look to the days to come – the Highlands Community Dinner is set for 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Tuesday, November 22nd, at the Highlands Civic Center.
A group of community churches pool their culinary resources to provide a traditional Thanksgiving feast. Turkey with all of its dressings, mouth watering side dishes, and homemade pies are all lovingly prepared by the area’s congregations.
Each year, a different church plays ‘host’ to this event. This year, The First Baptist Church has that role and they have been busy coordinating this occasion for thanks.
There will be acknowledgment of the blessings of the season by Dr. Charles Harris and a hearty serving of the warm fellowship and song that’s become a hallmark of the event.
The Highlands Community Dinner has been taking place well over a decade and still remains free to anyone wishing to delight in the food and friendship.
The Highlands Civic Center is located on Hwy. 64. For more information call (828) 526-0542.
