Emerging Artists: Frank Vickery March 24 ñ May 10 Atrium Gallery
Every year, we select a graduate student from Western North Carolina University to install his or her thesis exhibition at The Bascom. Frank Vickery, the honoree this year is no stranger to us. He has been with our institution as an intern and is currently The Bascomís Ceramics Program Manager. Frank has been selected for the quality of his work, his dedication to the field of ceramics and his enthusiastic ability to share his talent with others.

Local Audubon Walks Start May 5
The Highlands Plateau Audubon Society has planned some great walks for this month. Three are coming up soon.
Saturday, May 5
HPAS bird walk around The Bascom in Highlands at 7:30 am, followed by a guided tour of the 'Chicks" exhibit at the museum.
Tuesday, May 8
HPAS birding outing at Southern Highlands Reserve Gardens at 7:30 am. Must register in advance.
Saturday, May 12
HPAS bird walk at Lonesome Valley, Cashiers. Meet at 8:00 am at Lonesome Valley or for carpooling from Highlands area, meet at 7:30 am in The Bascom parking lot.
