EMOTIONS IN EVERYDAY LIFE
Tuesday, August 6 10:00-12:00
Emotion is part of what motivates our behavior, how we
learn, and how we react to other people. But, just what is an
emotion? Emotions are much more than feelings. There is
an emotion associated with most, if not all, of our
memories, which means all of our knowledge and
experiences. We all know that people express emotion in
their tone of voice, their body posture and facial expression.
But those emotions will also be embodied by anyone
looking at that person. They will actually experience those
same emotions. This lecture will explore the ways emotion
is involved in influencing how we learn and behave, even
though we are rarely aware of it.
Presenter: Dr. Larry Percy, an international consultant and
professor in communication and marketing, has taught worldwide
graduate programs in marketing as well as conducted
numerous world-wide seminars on communication issues.
