Wellness Festival

Matthew Duplessie

Chef Christopher Dupont

Come and experience a taste of all things Natural Health and Wellness at the Holistic Highlands Wellness Festival, 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Saturday, October 8, in Highlands Creek Village Plaza at 468 Dillard Road (across from Dusty’s).

This is a fun indoor and outdoor celebration and collaboration of local doctors, therapists, healers, teachers, authors, artists, musicians, dancers, raw chocolatiers, organic farmers, and more.

We will be spotlighting our Executive Wellness Chef, Christopher Dupont, who is opening a pair of health-conscious restaurants in the plaza – Embrace, a vegan and vegetarian café, and Savage, a French-American steakhouse specializing in wild game. He will have vegan and vegetarian delicacies to give out as samples all day by the grills out front and teach an in-depth Lunch & Learn at noon indoors at The Wellness Place where people can learn how to cook his menu for themselves and bring home recipes.

Chris will be joined by Chef Johannes Klapdohr, former executive chef of Old Edwards Inn, and now owner and chef of The Library Kitchen & Bar. Johannes will be showcasing some of his upcoming specialties that will be served at The Library.

Thank you to Ashley at The Spice & Tea Exchange of Highlands, and The Mountain Learning and Retreat Center for helping us make this happen with your generous donations of organic produce and spices!

There are also three more synergistic businesses opening up here in the plaza soon that have not only become a collective, but also a business family. We all believe strongly that there is strength in unity and power in collaboration. Every business in this town has a beautiful and unique finesse about them that no one would be able to beat – so rather than trying to conquer or compete with one another, Let’s Grow Together and celebrate our uniqueness!

As a team of individual business owners, we strive to support each other in our own endeavors and break any old paradigms of competition, bringing a fresh new sense of fun and uplifting in the community.

This is the Third Holistic Highlands Wellness Festival (they are held twice a year in July and October) and we are more excited than ever for this one! Not only are we celebrating the new restaurant and businesses, we are also uniting to raise funds for our local Firefighters and First Responders Workplace Wellness Program, which includes functional training and stretching for their work environment, healthy lunches, yoga, massage, stress reduction and so much more!

This celebration is perfect for all ages and pet friendly – a fun day for everyone!
