A Generous Pour, And More

The Highlands Food and Wine Festival is back from November 9 through the 12, and includes a full schedule of activities and even more ways to participate.

New this year, the festival has partnered with ZeroHero and will be composting all food waste and donating it to local farms on the Plateau.  So not only is the festival fun, it now promotes sustainability!

The first thing to do is visit HighlandsFoodandWine.com where you can find all the most up-to-date information.  That’s where you can purchase tickets to any and all events, read in-depth descriptions of everything that’s happening, and learn more about the chefs and musicians who are participating.

It all starts Thursday evening with The Grand Tasting at Kelsey Hutchinson Park.  Music by Love Canon will set the scene as guests sample fare from the finest chefs in the region.

On Friday, there’s an outdoor music festival with food trucks, vendors, music, and libations called Truckin’ that’s always a blast.  Taking the stage are rockin’ bands Dawes and Futurebirds. You can also participate in Sip and Shop, The Foodie Film Festival, special small bite experiences, and a wine dinner at The Farm at Old Edwards.

Saturday is another full day with The Main Event downtown.  Imagine the ultimate oyster roast right in the middle of Highlands, accompanied by some deep fried soul courtesy of JJ Grey & MOFRO and Dead 27s.  Sip and Shop, the film festival, and small bites continue and the special wine dinner is being held at Wolfgang’s Restaurant & Wine Bistro.  The evening concludes with A Generous Pour where The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will entertain ticket-holders.  All proceeds benefit The Food Pantry of Highlands.  Your donations may be made online when you purchase your tickets for A Generous Pour.

Sunday, the always-popular Gospel Brunch starts at noon at the Piermont Cottage and features music by Liz Vice and Joyful.  Tito’s Bloody Mary Bar and the tastiest brunch food you’ve ever experienced make this event a little slice a heaven.

The Highlands Chamber of Commerce invites you to spend November 9 through the 12 enjoying the Highlands Food and Wine Festival.  Get your tickets now online at HighlandsFoodandWine.com.
